Recommended by Harvey Steiman at Wine Spectator for New Year's Eve. This "recoltant-manipulant" grower-Champagne Jean Vesselle is a dessicated grapefruit flesh color, very lively on the glass with a vibrant mouse, and some sweetness on the nose. There doesn't appear to be any disgorgement date on the bottle but this is shockingly vibrant in the glass. Chalky raspberry aromas, with fuzzy sugar-toast notes, fresh squeezed orange and raspberry on the finish. Not long, but effervescent.
